Team permissions troubleshooting

Fix member invites, role access, seat limits, and workspace permission issues.

1 min read/10 sections

Team access depends on accepted workspace membership and the role assigned to each user.

Verify the invite email

The invite must be accepted by the same email address that received the invitation.

If a teammate signs in with another address, revoke the pending invite and send a new invitation to the correct account. Pending and revoked invitations should not grant workspace access.

Check role permissions

Owners can manage billing and ownership. Admins manage most workspace settings. Analysts focus on reporting. Viewers read dashboards.

Use the least powerful role that fits the job. Analysts can review reports and create operational analysis, while viewers should only need read access. Billing and ownership changes should stay with owners.

Resolve seat limits

If an invite fails, check the plan seat limit and pending invitations before sending another invite.

Remove inactive members or upgrade the plan when the team grows. Audit logs should record invitation, role, and membership changes so owners can review who changed access.
